Formula for Calculating Live Trading Performance
Performance
  =
Final Equity − Initial Equity + Withdrawals − Deposit − Internal Transfer In
Initial Equity + Deposits + Internal Transfer In
*100%
Example
Initial equity of a participant's trading account is $500, with $5,000 from accumulated top-up or deposit, and $2,000 from an internal transfer, while at the end of the competition period, a profit of $5,000 is achieved and $1,000 is withdrawn. In that case, the performance rate is calculated as follows:
Formula for Final Equity: Initial Equity + Deposits + Internal Transfer + Profit - Withdrawals
Final Equity = 500 + 5,000 + 2,000 + 5,000 − 1,000 = 11,500
Performance
  =
11,500 − 500 + 1,000 − 5,000 − 2,000
500 + 5,000 + 2,000
*100% =
66.67%
Result: Performance is 66.67%
In Live Trading Competitions, deposits and withdrawals affect performance, whereas in Demo Trading Competitions, performance is based solely on equity increase as deposits and withdrawals are not allowed.
